Guru Purnima (July 9 2017)
Guru means teacher, a knowledgeable soul who can guide you on the path of knowledge, wisdom, wealth and success. Purnima refers to the full moon day. The moon is often associated with the mind and emotional well being. Knowledge with humility is the first step to achieve emotional stability and practical decisions. When you look at the ancient iconography of lord Shiva in Vedic lore, he is seated under a banyan tree, wears the moon on his head, snake around his neck and is surrounded by seven rishis.
Lord Shiva was considered to be the Adi guru (first guru) in this universe. Legends quote that yoga, Ayurveda, dance, melody, essence of Vedic knowledge were imparted to Saptarishis by this Jagatguru lord Shiva. They in turn established gurukuls and started spreading knowledge to ensure welfare of society. Thus the history or existence of a guru in life has been existent from ancient Lore. With the passage of time there were other gurus like Gnyaneshwar, Swami Samartha, Shirdi Sai baba and Adi Shankaracharya who ensured that every life they touched was blessed with knowledge, righteous conduct, soul awareness and fullfillment.
At present our gurus are the teachers that educate us in schools, colleges, institutes of arts , performance , yoga gurus , management gurus, Vedic gurus and finally the inner guru. Guru Purnima celebrates and honors all the gurus. It is auspicious to seek their blessings and offer gifts to Gurus on this day. Rudraksha are the divine tears of the Jagatguru ( lord Shiva). He was further described in ancient texts as “ Adiguru sarva moola nivasine” ( The first guru who resides at the root of every thing). Rudraksha are essentially Moolabijas , the first seeds from the eyes of the first guru. They are found abundantly in nature and are multifaceted. A good natural Rudraksha should carry this energy to benefit its wearer by helping him experience Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha as per texts. Rudralife, an organization dedicated to supplying good quality of Rudraksha ensures all its products are natural and ISO lab tested to ensure optimal benefits to its customers.
There are some Rudraksha that connect you to the inner guru as per texts. The inner guru is activated when a soul is connected to the divine soul of the Jagatguru(lord Shiva). Such an individual will be ever attentive to the voices of his friends , enemies, exercise knowledge, discernment and rely on his intellect to take the right decision. The voice of lord Shiva is merely the voice of a connected soul or the inner voice which guides us. Gurupurnima is a good day to connect to the guru by wearing a Rudraksha or by gifting a Rudraksha mala to your guru. An individual Rudraksha, power combinations, malas all are available at Rudralife.
